Volunteering at Kroo.

Kroo is aiming for 1000 hours of volunteering in 2024.

Here at Kroo, we've always strived to be a caring bank that goes beyond finances and gives back to our local community and global causes, so much so that we've decided to dedicate a company goal to our volunteering efforts.

Our team aims to hit 1000 volunteer hours with nonprofits in 2024!

When it comes to volunteering, we believe that by actively participating in and giving back to our community, we can foster meaningful connections, create a positive impact, and truly be a bank that reflects the values and needs of the people we serve. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our partnership with corporate volunteering platform Matchable!

Before creating our volunteering policy with Matchable, we were already actively engaged with Food for All UK, a food kitchen dedicated to helping people in need around London. Together, we helped prepare approximately 1000 meals for those in need. At the same time, we also provided a list of various volunteer opportunities, aiming to cater to varied interests and preferences in the team.

Despite our genuine efforts, we encountered challenges. The available volunteering activities sometimes failed to align with our employees' diverse interests and values.
Establishing partnerships with local nonprofits and community organisations proved difficult, hindering our ability to offer a comprehensive range of volunteering options that could accommodate different skill sets and preferences. Additionally, we faced challenges with properly tracking employee volunteer hours and assessing the impact of their contributions.

Recognising the need for a solution, we sought a partnership with Matchable to address these issues comprehensively. Matchable's platform helps us streamline our volunteering initiatives, offering a more tailored and flexible approach that aligns with our employees' diverse interests, values, skills and timetables!

Already used by companies like Dentsu, Indeed Flex, GANT, Thriva, and The Bank Of London and The Middle East, Matchable is a trusted and award-winning platform reimagining employee volunteering. They have a reputation in the industry for skills-based volunteering projects that create as much as 150x more impact for charities than traditional volunteering or corporate ‘pledges’. They have 1000s of innovative, resource-poor nonprofits on their platform looking for skilled volunteers to help them scale.

A variety of the projects through Matchable also contribute to at least one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, a shared blueprint for global peace and prosperity for people and the planet with specific 2030 targets committed to by all UN countries.

Misperi, partnerships manager at Matchable, commented:

“The passion for giving back that the Kroo team have shown already this year, and their ambitious goal of giving 1000 hours of their time to nonprofits, is really inspiring! They’ve already created over £85,000 worth of impact value for charities this year!”

Being a socially conscious bank is incredibly important to us and aligns with our values and missions. We actively encourage our employees to engage in volunteering opportunities that specifically contribute to environmental causes. Our team is currently focused on sustainability, homelessness, and wildlife, demonstrating our dedication to positively impacting the world around us.

Pledging to give all of our employees paid volunteering time and access to the Matchable platform will allow us to support these causes in an even bigger way going into 2024!

We have also partnered with OneTreePlanted, a nonprofit organisation focused on global reforestation. When you open a Kroo current account, we’ll plant two trees on your behalf. These trees are planted in communities where their presence will make a positive impact, further supporting our commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.

We’re excited to see what impact this partnership and our team can create through skilled volunteerism in 2024.
